Ceremony:
Location: Fellowship Baptist Church
- Thank you all for respecting our decision to have an "unplugged ceremony" - meaning we kindly ask guests to refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony. Photos and videos may be taken after the completion of the ceremony
- Doors to the sanctuary will be closed at exactly 1:55 pm so please be sure to arrive before then
- The ceremony will be finished at around 2:30pm
- Once the ceremony is finished, Josiah and I will exit the church. Unfortunately, no photos with the couple will be taken at this time
Limbo Time: 2:30 pm until 5pm
- Due to the nature of our venue booking, there will be limbo time for guests between the ceremony and cocktail hour. We apologize for any inconvenience
- Guests are free to do as they please during this time and are encouraged to plan for this time in advance. All guests are welcome to head to the reception venue "th e Gardens" early to tour and take photos (see Reception section for more information)
- The wedding party as well as immediate family members will be taking photos at the Gardens between 4pm and 5pm. All other guests who wish to take photos with Josiah and I are encouraged to arrive at the Gardens by that time.
- The drive from the Church to the reception venue is approximately 30 mins. Guests are encouraged to carpool or have a designated driver. Guests are responsible to arrange for their own transportation
Cocktail Hour: 5:00pm to 5:30pm
- Upon arrival to the Gardens, please head to the Welcome Centre (clearly visible from the parking lot) and let the staff know that you are a guest at Josiah and Claudia's wedding reception. They will direct you to our venue ("The Diwan").
- Please note that the walk from the Welcome Centre to The Diwan is around 5 minutes and there are stairs to head to the patio (see below). Golf carts are available upon request for guests with mobility issues (or really high heels hehe).
- Once you arrive at The Diwan, there will be signs to direct you to the patio for cocktail hour. Please be advised that there are quite a few stairs to get up to the patio. There is a service elevator available for guests with mobility issues.
- As we will be setting up the main venue at this time, please do not enter the Diwan venue unless you are using the service elevator. While we appreciate guests offering to help set up the venue, please head to the patio for cocktail hour or continue to tour the Gardens. Any guests hanging around in the Diwan venue that are not part of the set up crew will be respectfully asked to leave.
- Drink tickets will be available upon purchase at this time and during the reception for $2/ticket. Please bring cash
Reception: 5:30pm
- Please head back to the Diwan at 5:30pm to sign in and find your table number on the seating chart displayed
- There will be a box labeled "cards" for gift envelopes (gifts are not obligatory by the way!)
- Once at your table, please look for the seat with your name card on it
- The program will start at around 5:45pm and the dance floor will open around 8pm and run until midnight
- Dinner: the dinner menu will be traditional North American; any dietary restrictions that have not been listed on your RSVP please send it to us via email ASAP
- Please be responsible and do not drink and drive. Taxis do not go out to the Gardens but Ubers can be ordered through the Uber app on your phone. Please note that we cannot guarantee Uber availability at that time
Alcohol: $2/tickets
- We are doing a ticket system at $2/ticket. A ticket is one drink. Please bring coins or exact change if possible
- Drink tickets will be available for purchase during cocktail hour and throughout the reception
- We will be serving specialty cocktails, shots, select beers, coolers, and wines
- Non-alcoholic beverages: our specialty cocktails can be made with zero-alcohol but will cost the same $2/ticket. Regular zero-alcohol drinks are free (pop, juice, etc)
50/50 Raffle Draw: cash-only
- We will be doing a 50/50 raffle draw during the wedding reception. This is a cash-only raffle so please bring cash to the reception if you wish to participate (there will be no ATM's at the venue)
- 50% of total contributions will go to one winner and 50% will go towards our wedding expenses :)
- Raffle tickets are priced as follows:
$5 for 1 ticket
$10 for 3 tickets
$20 for 10 tickets
Gifts: Not expected
- Please note gifts of any sort are not an expectation as your ability to attend is more than enough :)
- Those who still wish to provide a gift, we ask for cash only to help cover expenses but again, not at all an expectation
Dress code:
- As a frequently asked question, I should address that we do not have a specific dress code however please note that it will likely be very hot so please dress accordingly and comfortably
- With that being said, please do not worry about being overdressed and we encourage guests to dress up
